Myles Lewis-Skelly has received a clearer indication of his transfer situation after both Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly turned down the opportunity to sign the young Arsenal defender this summer.
The 19-year-old had been made available to several clubs after struggling to secure consistent playing time at the Emirates Stadium. Despite his impressive emergence at senior level, Lewis-Skelly has found it increasingly difficult to establish himself as a regular starter, prompting speculation that Arsenal could consider selling their academy graduate.
However, with Manchester United and Chelsea both deciding against pursuing a deal, Lewis-Skelly’s immediate future could now remain in North London.
According to The Telegraph, Arsenal have placed a valuation of approximately £45 million on the England international. Any potential transfer would therefore represent a significant financial return for Arsenal, particularly because Lewis-Skelly came through the club’s academy.
Lewis-Skelly’s Rapid Rise at Arsenal
Lewis-Skelly first attracted widespread attention after breaking into Arsenal’s senior squad during the 2024/2025 season.
His performances quickly convinced Mikel Arteta that he could compete at the highest level despite his young age. Lewis-Skelly’s versatility has also been one of his biggest strengths, as he is capable of playing as a left-back or moving into midfield when required.

Manchester United Decide Against Lewis-Skelly Transfer

Despite that previous admiration, The Telegraph now reports that Manchester United have decided not to pursue a transfer for the Arsenal youngster during the current summer window.
The decision represents a change in direction for United, who had previously been considered one of the clubs potentially capable of making a move for Lewis-Skelly.
With Arsenal demanding £45 million, Manchester United appear unwilling to commit such a substantial fee to the deal.
Chelsea Also Turn Down Opportunity
Chelsea have reportedly reached a similar conclusion.
The London club were approached about the possibility of signing Lewis-Skelly after an intermediary made them aware that the Arsenal defender was potentially available.
However, Chelsea ultimately decided against making an offer.
The Blues are understood to be satisfied with the arrival of Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano, with the overall value of that transfer potentially reaching around £19 million.
With another left-sided option already arriving at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea reportedly saw little reason to pursue the considerably more expensive Lewis-Skelly.
The decision effectively closes one potential destination for the Arsenal academy product this summer.
Arsenal Demand £45 Million for Their Academy Graduate
Arsenal’s reported £45 million asking price is another major factor in determining Lewis-Skelly’s future.
Because the defender developed through Arsenal’s academy, virtually the entire transfer fee would represent a significant financial gain for the club if he were eventually sold.
That valuation demonstrates how highly Arsenal continue to rate the player despite his recent difficulties in securing regular first-team football.
Chelsea, for example, reportedly never seriously considered submitting an official bid after being informed that Lewis-Skelly could be available.

Arsenal Competition Could Make Things Difficult
